Characters: _____ (scale of 1 to 10)
Element Specific comments:

Total: ________ (50 points possible)

CONDENSED INSTRUCTIONS TO JUDGES:
Use a scale of 1 to 10 (1 to 20 for the Romance section) to formulate your opinion of this entry, with 10 as the highest score and 1 as the lowest. You may use the entire range of numbers, including fractional scores expressed in decimals, but you should not rank the entries you review. Score all four sections. Judge each entry on its own merit; even if that means you give two or more entries the same score.

Please review your judge’s training material for further detail on scoring and The Golden Network’s policy on professional and open-minded judging.

We strongly encourage you to leave comments within the text of this entry for the author. Do not use “track changes” or any commenting features of your word processing system. Simply type your notes directly into the text, but change the appearance of your text so that the entrant can easily spot your comments. Try using a different font color, and/or put your notes in brackets or all-capitals.

Thank you for judging the Golden Pen contest!

Babette has been writing for over a decade, and each of her completed manuscripts has won awards in RWA chapter contests. She is still seeking the perfect editor and agent for her work, still writing in anticipation of becoming an overnight success. An accomplished artist, her artwork is available in several galleries. She is a practitioner of many energy and healing modalities, including telepathic animal communication. Her most recent accomplishment was being accepted into the final advanced Master class with the forerunner of Animal Communication, Penelope Smith. Babette lives on a small farm with double-digit numbers of animals and an extremely tolerant husband.
